- N1MM Contest logger Very good and free contest logging software. Has support for virtually any contest, and the development is very much ongoing. The CW machine has become very good, and working big contests like CQWW and CQWPX is almost relaxing with this piece of software. I have used it in two CQWW and one WPX contest up to now(thousands of QSO's), and I am very satisfied with how the software works.
- Logger32 Very good and free DX/general logging software with many bells and whistles. Excellent cluster support, and very simple to see what you have worked/confirmed or not. It has integration with HamCap (by VE3NEA) for propagation forecasts, built in CW keyer, PSK/Soundcard modes, data terminal and many other niceties. Has no practical QSL or log printing facilities however, but used in conjunction with ex. DXBase, you have the ultimate package. Check out this screenshot of my setup. There is an addon program called LogPrint which will print labels and logs, but it is a bit buggy.
- DXBase Powerful but quite expensive DX/general logging software. Very good for QSL management and printing, but not to many bells and whistles. The application is built in MSAccess, and therefore is quite processor hungry and a bit different. Also the interface takes a bit of getting used to. Ex. there is no QSO input window, rather you input the QSO's directly into the database grid. Works OK, even if you find yourself in the DX end of a pileup, but it is not very practical. Once you get used to it, it's OK. However, especially the QSL management/printing/address label/envelope and report possibilities are outstanding. DXBase might just be the best general purpose logging application out there, even with all it's quirks and strangeties.
- KLog for Linux. Tried it for a while, but couldn't get it to open any of my ADIF files. It either crashed or imported faulty. It clearly has potentials though, and hopefully the serious issues will be worked out.
- XLog has support for hamlib (rig control), label printing and more. Haven't had enough time to look at it yet.
