The LA1ATV FM ATV repeater is located in WWL:JO59FE on Notteroy south of Tonsberg, and is hosted by LA1T, Tonsberg group of NRRL. Is has a temporary licence and is currently sending test transmissions. I captured some images tonight (28 Oct 2001).
The equipment in my end is a Strong SRT 332 LTP standard PAL satellite receiver, 10 meters of ECOFlex-10 Coax, available from Vargarda Radio and a HL-6111 vertical 3 band antenna available from Permo. I currently use no preamp, but as you can see the picture is still very much there. My location is 26 km away from the repeater, and I have no clear line of sight.
You can use any old PAL satellite tuner, but a preamp is very much recommended. The antenna polarity is vertical today, but will be changed to horizontal in the near future.
Preamp's and other ATV equipment is available from Infracom, which is where i bought my tuner.
It is still not easy to capture screenshots from a TV with an el cheapo web cam, but here are some images.
